Aww yeah, that’s the stuff. I grew up in the neighbourhood they were from.

Also from Toronto and very talented. Still need to pick up an album by them.

By buddy’s aunt was the principal at Ed and Steve’s high school in Scarberia Scarborough.

Some days I almost miss Toronto. Almost . I miss Ottawa more.

Red Barchetta is the most Jalop song period. I’ll fight for it too.

As far as Toronto area music, I was always kind of partial to Billy Talent.

But if you ask anyone from Mississauga, they’re pretty adamant that they’re not from Toronto.

But surely they can’t deny that they live in the Toronto area.

The farthest I’ve gone into Canada is Niagara Falls, so I’m certainly no expert on the matter. Living in Pennsylvania (so relatively close to Canada), here’s what would happen if someone from here met someone from that city:

“So, where are you from?”

“I’m from Mississauga.”

“Mississippi?”

“No, Canada.”

“Neat. Where in Canada?.” (Insert generic joke about maple syrup / politeness / hockey)

“Ontario.”

“Cool. I’ve always wanted to go to Montreal.”

“No, that’s in Quebec.”

“Right. I knew that. So where is Missississaupa?”

“Mississauga. It’s a pretty big city. It isn’t defined by the other cities around it.”

“Sure, but I mean like, what ‘real’ city is it near?”

“...Toronto.”

“Man, I hate the Blue Jays. Does Toronto still have the Maple Leaves? Hey Joe, this guy’s from Toronto!”
